mdg’ers—whether conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between—have been collectively raising their level of political awareness and social activism over the past several months. From supporting independently-owned businesses to sending letters outlining their priorities to members of Congress, to servicing a Meals on Wheels route in San Diego, the mdg team is striving to positively impact in the communities in which they work and live.
The most recent initiative was in conjunction with International Women’s Day. Co-owners, Kimberly Hardcastle-Geddes and Vincent Polito, made a donation to a woman’s charity on behalf of each mdg woman who simply showed up to work. Employees chose between three charities, including a foundation set up in the name of Lisa Potts-Polito to provide scholarships for deserving college students entering into the hospitality field, Girls Inc. and the National Women’s Health Network. A total of $1200 was donated.
