Reston, Virginia. The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) held its annual Ignite conference at the San Diego Convention Center, February 19-21, 2015. Ignite is the only professional development event devoted exclusively to the needs of school leaders, providing the resources and inspiration principals need to more effectively guide their school to greatness. This year’s Ignite conference saw a 17 percent increase in attendance, providing even more opportunities for attendees to learn not only from peer practitioners during sessions, but also from each other in networking with other principals from across the country.

Many Ignite ’15 sessions focused on the ever-growing topic of digital leadership, with NASSP hosting its first ever Edcamp event with more than 100 attendees participating in discussions based on their most immediate needs and interests. Other successful features of the conference included the Learning Labs and Tech Studio—quick, technology-based learning opportunities between sessions—and the School Showcase, which presents first-person success stories as told by a school’s staff and students.
