mdg Expands With Office in the Capital City

Washington, D.C. –– On Tuesday, December 17 at 5:30 pm, Marketing Design Group (mdg) will celebrate the official opening of its office at 1990 M Street NW, with a small celebration for local clients, employees and industry friends. After purchasing the agency last summer, Kimberly Hardcastle-Geddes and Vincent Polito recognized as a top priority having a physical presence in Washington, D.C. to serve the agency’s growing client base. The two owners immediately set out to identify the right space, build a talented team and develop a long-term strategy to deliver an enhanced level of personalized service for clients headquartered along the Eastern Seaboard.

As president of mdg, Hardcastle-Geddes will continue providing strategic marketing support to East and West Coast based clients. “We’re fortunate that our clients have always felt that distance is a non-issue due in large part to our proactive approach to account management and our commitment to regular in-person meetings, regardless of our location, Hardcastle-Geddes noted. “This move will help facilitate the ease of doing even more business face-to-face which is, after all, the driving force behind the events industry.”

Polito echoed the sentiment and added, “Over the past couple of years, mdg has developed new or additional business from a growing roster of D.C.-area clients, serving as an integral member of their marketing teams. As such, it’s important that we are readily available for meetings to discuss, on a frequent and consistent basis, everything from big-picture strategy to day-to-day tactical execution to evaluating the results of our campaigns and making any necessary course corrections in real time.”

The growing roster of clients to which Polito refers includes the American Bakers Association, BOMA International, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Lippman Connects, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, SPI—Plastics Industry Trade Association and U.S. News & World Report. According to Robb MacKie, president and chief executive officer of American Bakers Association, “We are thrilled to welcome MDG to the downtown D.C. community. They have been a terrific partner and are personally invested in ABA’s success. We benefit even more by having local account reps in addition to the bi-coastal team of copywriting, design and digital media professionals that support them.”

The D.C. office will be staffed by a team of marketing strategists, public relations specialists and live event experts, including Claudia Maurer. Maurer came to mdg from multi-national trade show organizer, Messe Frankfurt, where she was responsible for attendee and exhibitor marketing, media relations and symposium programs. Over the past year, Maurer has had much success helping mdg clients launch new events, increase market share and turn around underperforming events.

Maurer believes that mdg‘s consistent growth and expanding footprint are a testament to the talent of the people, stating, “Our account services team has an exceptional ability to collaborate with event organizers in a way that helps them achieve their objectives and generate a positive ROI. We’re hoping to be even more successful at doing exactly that for current and future clients alike.”
