Industry veteran Kate Blom-Lowery has been recruited to head up mdg’s expanding Public Relations division. The hire is part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to provide integrated marketing and PR solutions to its growing roster of association and event clients.

With a degree in journalism and experience providing PR services for both non-profit associations (NAMM) and for-profit organizers (Emerald Expositions, the producer of Outdoor Retailer, SURTEX and the Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show), Kate is perfectly poised to help mdg clients achieve their publicity and communications objectives. She and her team will collaborate with existing agency staff to write pitches, speeches, press releases and more. Her responsibilities include influencing social media strategy, spearheading media relations and managing crisis communication plans. Furthermore, Kate will measure and track PR campaigns to assess the tools, tactics and technologies that provide the highest return on her clients’ PR investments.

“PR isn’t just about sending a news release and conducting personalized follow-up anymore,” says Kimberly Hardcastle-Geddes, mdg president. “It starts with strategic vision and encompasses influencer marketing, organic social media, infographics, video, storytelling, community relations programs, charitable initiatives and more. We are thrilled to have Kate on board, helping us hone strategy and craft the right combination of tools that will most effectively inspire action and connect with the audiences we serve.”

Vincent Polito, agency owner, echoed that sentiment adding, “mdg is continuously adapting to meet the ever-changing and increasingly complex needs of our association and event clients. Kate will lend her expertise to help our clients increase their exposure, strengthen media relationships, enhance their brands, build community and drive registration and membership.
