On October 17-18, 2011, prominent brand managers, thought leaders, and technology innovators came together at the Pivot Conference in New York City to explore the role the Social Consumer plays in the future of marketing and business. Brian Solis, who produced and hosted the event, did not disappoint with a conference agenda filled with rich, unique content and provocative thought leadership. Designed as a story arc, the agenda ranged from the deep human roots of Social Consumer behavior through disruption in audience, technology and transactions to explorations of what lies ahead for branding, commerce and culture. Pivot attendees heard from social’s leading thinkers and revered brands, including Britta Schell of MTV, Kip Wetzel of Comcast, Frank Eliason of Citibank and Adam Duritz of the Couting Crows. Unlike other events in this space, there were no panels, hour-long keynotes or on-stage commercials. Only evocative experiences, advice, and insights that would support effective social experiences pre-, mid, and post-commerce, today and over time. MDG was honored to serve as the Pivot Conference’s marketing agency, assisting show management implement innovative new tactics to attract the highest quality of attendees.
