In September, Global Securities Exchange (GSX) and FABTECH exemplified the importance of live industry gatherings. Both shows brought international communities together and provided essential updates for members of rapidly changing fields, while achieving significant participation milestones.

Presented by ASIS International, the world’s largest association for security management professionals, GSX united 16,000 registrants from 95 countries and more than 470 exhibiting companies in Dallas, Sept. 11-13. In addition to exceeding attendance projections, the event featured many impactful learning opportunities and prominent speakers, including a discussion about conflict abroad from former President George Bush and a look at urgent threats facing the U.S. from former CIA Officer and FBI Special Agent Tracy Walder.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the success of our annual conference and trade show,” said Tim McCreight, CPP, 2023 president, ASIS International. “Together, we’ve created a truly remarkable experience for security professionals across the globe that will have a long-lasting impact.”

At the same time (Sept. 11-14), FABTECH welcomed 40,505 attendees from 80 countries and all 50 states to Chicago’s McCormick Place, resulting in a 26% YoY growth in attendance. The pinnacle event for metal forming highlighted the innovation transforming the manufacturing industry with a showcase of over 1,500 suppliers, including 235 first-time exhibitors and over 575 new products. Participants explored critical developments in sectors like 3D/additive manufacturing and robotics and industrial automation in discussions on the show floor, 180+ education sessions and daily Leadership Exchange panels.

“This year’s event was an exceptional gathering, offering the industry a one-stop-shop for solutions with an expansive show floor that truly showcased the future of manufacturing,” said Tracy Garcia, CEM, FABTECH Group Director at SME.
