With the goal of encouraging independent retailers, specifically, to reconsider attendance at National Hardware Show, mdg developed creative and messaging that challenged existing perceptions — namely, that the event was traditional, stale and only for “big box” retailers. The unique creative approach was designed to encourage lapsed attendees to take another look at the show, pulling them into succinct, benefit-driven messaging. As the campaign developed, the straight-forward, no-jargon tone helped facilitate a personal connection to the reader.
